The online version of Office 2010 will be free

Microsoft Office resurrected. On performance, a PowerPoint suffered from comparison with its counterpart at Apple (Keynote). On the price, Microsoft took expensive face a free Open Office more efficient and a Google Docs more and more reliable. Some former employees of Microsoft Office had even buried. Perhaps a little early.

The secret was not kept very well, but Microsoft announced Monday at a conference in New Orleans, the 2010 version of its office suite Office would use free online. The Office web applications will be versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote. Microsoft has apparently started his demonstration in Firefox and says that Office Web will be compatible with major browsers. 

To resurrect Office, Microsoft has not skimped on marketing the site with Office 2010: the movie trailers and several very Hollywood, the most geeks will appreciate the humor. 

The new generation Office range, including a nearly final version is being tested by tens of thousands of people, to be launched on the market in the first half of 2010. 

"The fact that Microsoft is developing all this is a response to Google," said Matt Rosoff, an analyst from research firm Directions On Microsoft.
