Library of Mari El in need of additional funding

At a board meeting yesterday the Ministry of Culture discussed the implementation of the Federal Law "On Librarianship and the provision of subsidies for acquisition of library book collections municipalities Republic of Mari El.

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Head of the Government, the Minister of Culture, Press and Nationalities of the Republic of Mari El Mykhail Vasyutina.

A report on the implementation of Federal Law № 78-FZ of 29.12.1994 "On Libraries" in Marie-Turekskom Paranginskom and municipalities made chief librarian of the scientific-methodical department of the National Library named Sergei Chavayna Irina Karaseva.

In ruling on this issue the panel noted that the library is in the area of attention of administrations of municipal entities. The state of the material and technical base libraries satisfactory, but requires significant improvement, increased funding for the acquisition of book collections.
